Democratic Republic of Congo

Conflict in DR Congo The Democratic Republic of Congo has been what amounts to a warzone for the last fifty years. This area has suffered from outbreaks of disease, widespread sexual violence, and a civil war that has involved the recruitment of children soldiers and seemingly endless refugees. On top of this the area has been involved a genocide of a minority, and lacks the leadership to solve these problems on their own. It has received much intervention from the UN to no avail. Many have simply given up hope and chosen to ignore the problem completely.
